Peter and Kathleen explore the transfer of consciousness phenomena that have been documented and Peter gives a personal account of his recent surgery for varicose veins.
This Week’s Deep Dive
We first looked at the transfer of consciousness from donor to recipient with organ transplants in this episode – video and audio. In this week’s episode, we comment on a video from Epoch Health, which further explores the phenomenon and also looks at an extraordinary near-death experience.

On the 7th of August 2025, we published an episode about varicose veins. Peter recently had surgery for varicose veins. In this week’s episode, he describes his experience. He did not mention on the show that the procedure is carried out with a general anaesthetic. He was back home the same day. After three days of sitting with the leg elevated and bandaged, he started walking about the house and driving. After ten days he was able to resume longer walks, exercises and driving a tractor for snow clearing.
The procedure was less painful than expected, and he did not need to take any painkillers.
