Carrying Forward Tom Silver’s Legacy of Healing

This post is by Tommy Giorlando from the Tom Silver Foundation.

Some people touch the world in ways that ripple out long after they’re gone. Tom Silver was one of those rare people.

Known for his high-profile work with celebrities, his appearances on television, and his unforgettable NBA halftime hypnosis shows, Tom could have easily built a career based on wealth and prestige. Instead, he chose a different path. His real focus was on lifting up
people who were hurting, no matter their circumstances.

Time and again, people struggling with addiction, pain, or hopelessness would come to him – often with little or no money.

Rather than turning them away, Tom gave his time and talent freely. He understood the voice of desperation and the need for relief all too well.
That generosity was at the core of who he was.

I had the privilege of meeting Tom at the Performing Hypnosis Summit in Las Vegas in January 2025. Despite being a legend in the field, he greeted me as if I were an old friend – every time with a huge smile and a booming, “Tommmyyyy!” What many didn’t realize at the time was that Tom was quietly battling cancer and kidney failure. Yet he still poured every ounce of energy he had into advancing hypnosis as both an art and a science.

In May 2025, Tom passed away, but not before ensuring his work would live on. Alongside his wife Suzanne, stepdaughter Mariah, and fellow hypnotist Israel Mandrake, we formed the Tom Silver Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to carrying his mission forward.

The Foundation focuses on bringing mind-body wellness to underserved communities while advancing the scientific study of hypnosis.

Through techniques like Emotion Replacement Therapy (E.R.T.), developed and perfected by Tom, we are addressing the pressing needs of today – from veterans living with PTSD to individuals battling chronic pain and addiction.

Here’s how you can join us:

1. Book a session: Every private session not only helps you but also funds a session for someone in need.
2. Join a training: Learn Tom’s proven methods while helping us reach more people.
3. Make a donation: Any amount helps. Larger gifts may come with thank-you perks like sessions, training, or special items.
4. Offer your skills: We welcome professionals who want to volunteer or collaborate.

To increase awareness, I am personally offering free pain-relief sessions to anyone who donates. The results we’ve seen are nothing short of incredible – including long-term relief for those who have suffered for decades. While no method works for everyone, many have found a quality of life they thought was gone forever.
